Bed Bath & Beyond has named Kyla Robinson as chief technology transformation officer, as the company accelerates efforts to unify its expanding retail and services ecosystem.
Robinson will report to president Amy Sullivan and lead the development of a single, integrated technology and data platform spanning the company’s omnichannel retail operations, home services, product ecosystem and financial capabilities.
At the core of the role is the creation of what the company describes as a “single, intelligent system”, designed to connect customer data, transactions and services across brands including The Container Store, Kirkland’s, Overstock and BuyBuy Baby.
The remit includes building a unified data and identity layer, advancing AI-driven customer intelligence and modernising core platforms across stores, e-commerce and services.
Robinson joins from Spanx, where she led digital commerce, product and engineering for its direct-to-consumer business. She previously held senior roles at Nike, Walmart and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Her background reflects a blend of retail, digital and product leadership, aligning with Bed Bath & Beyond’s push to integrate physical retail with tech-enabled services.
The appointment supports CEO Marcus Lemonis’s strategy to reposition the business as an “Everything Home Company,” built around three pillars: omnichannel retail, digital and financial services, and a broader home services ecosystem.
Since outlining that vision, the company has moved aggressively on acquisitions, including deals for The Container Store and F9 Brands, as it builds out capabilities across categories such as storage, flooring, cabinets and installation.
Robinson’s role is effectively to stitch those assets together, using data, AI and platform integration to create a more cohesive customer journey across the full home lifecycle, from purchase to installation and beyond.
The move signals that Bed Bath & Beyond’s transformation is increasingly technology-led, with platform unification and data intelligence positioned as the backbone of its next phase of growth.
