Online fashion retailer Shein has launched the second edition of its annual Campus tour, which is a marketing campaign designed to connect with college students during Welcome Week.
Additionally, the retailer aims to grow its ongoing Shein Campus Ambassador Program. This program builds on the success of last year’s tour, and the brand plans to visit seven universities across the East Coast and Southeast.
Shein’s marketing campaign will bring interactive, social-first activations, which include branded photo stations, games, exclusive giveaways, and on-site opportunities to apply for the Shein Campus Ambassador Program.
The brand will have promotions and free merchandise, which can be received through completing activities during the activation, including downloading the official app and following Shein on social media.
According to the business, the marketing activity was created to push social engagements and will encourage the younger shoppers to connect with the brand while creating shareable moments.
The brand’s campus ambassador program selects college students across the US who are passionate about content creation and fashion.
The scheme gives ambassadors the opportunity to develop leadership skills, build professional networks and gain real-world experience including stipends and access to Shein events.
According to the business, since its beginning, the program has paid ambassadors over $30m in commissions to help fund tuition and their school supplies.
The first activation launched on 19 August, and the Shein Campus Tour will visit the following universities:
- August 20 – North Carolina A&T State University (Greensboro, NC)
- August 26 – University of Central Florida (Orlando, FL)
- August 28 – Kennesaw State University (Cobb County, GA)
- September 1 – Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, GA)
- September 11 – Rutgers University–New Brunswick (New Brunswick, NJ)
