Daiso opens new store in Colorado

Japanese-owned discount retailer Daiso has expanded into Colorado with the opening of a new store at Pavilion Shopping Center in Fort Collins.

A second location is set to launch at Village on the Park in Aurora on 22 March.

Jack Williams, chief retail operations officer for Daiso USA, said: “We are beyond excited to bring Daiso to Colorado for the first time.

“Both Fort Collins and Aurora are fantastic communities, and we’ve seen growing demand for our distinctive and value-driven offerings. We can’t wait to introduce our brand to these new customers.”

Daiso plans to continue expanding its retail footprint in the US, with new locations set to open in Bloomingdale, Illinois, and Oswego, Illinois.

In February, the company introduced its first store in Northdale Promenade in Tampa, Florida. The retailer also opened stores in Aliso Viejo, California, and Niles, Illinois in March.

John Clarke, chief development officer for Daiso USA, said: “We’ve been receiving tremendous interest from customers in Colorado, and we’re eager to offer them the Daiso experience.

“These two locations are just the beginning of our expansion in 2025. We’re excited to introduce more customers to our special and budget-friendly items.”

The new stores will offer a variety of products, including home decor, kitchenware, beauty products, stationery, and Japanese snacks, and will also feature Daiso’s treasure hunt shopping experience.

The Japanese-founded discount retailer opened its first location in the US in 2005 and has expanded across multiple states with a headquarters in Anaheim, California. Daiso currently operates over 6000 locations globally.
